Joining Bayer in March 2024, Dr. Whitener was recruited and asked to help expand the Cardiovascular Renal Medical Science Liaison team into the Heart Failure space.  Kerendia is currently indicated in the Type 2 Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease therapeutic area and has applied for approval by the FDA to be indicated in Heart Failure with preserved ejection fraction this year.

Outside of the MSL role, Dr. Whitener serves as a Preceptor and an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy as well as Adjunct Faculty at Northern Kentucky University instructing Cardiovascular Perfusion Students in Clinical Pharmacology.
