Secondary Stroke Prevention: Unmet Need and Residual Risk
Sponsored By Bayer

Session Detail: Despite advancements in stroke care, there is a residual risk of secondary stroke development. Stroke recurrence rate in patients with non-cardioembolic ischemic stroke can be >7% in the 3 months following a stroke. Furthermore, the increased risk for subsequent strokes continues beyond the acute, 3-month period, out to 5 years and beyond. This session will be dedicated to the review of secondary stroke prevention and the unmet need in this patient population. It will be an interactive session, and active conversation/inquiries in the realm of secondary stroke prevention are encouraged throughout.
